MILWAUKEE (May 5, 2022) – Chris Williams has joined the Centers of Independence as its new chief strategy and operations officer.
Williams is a seasoned executive in the nonprofit management field, with extensive experience in operational and strategic planning, fundraising, and new service development.
Prior to joining CFI, he was the chief operating officer for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, and had held the position of associate development director for the ACLU of Illinois.
“We are excited to have Chris join our team,” said Teri Zywicki, CEO and president of CFI. “His leadership and vast operational skills will help CFI achieve our strategic goals and fulfil our mission of advancing total health.”
Williams said he was drawn to CFI because of its mission serving those with disabilities and disadvantages, especially since he has a family member with cerebral palsy.
“I know what it means to my sister to be able to live independently,” said Williams. “It’s an honor to be able to serve CFI’s mission and to help others be more independent and more hopeful.”
Williams received his bachelor of arts degree in political science and communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is married to wife Susan Dykes. They enjoy domestic and international travel to art exhibitions, and Williams is a model railroader, and a progressive and alternative music enthusiast.
